George and I have enjoyed Friday around the Oslo waterfront. First, we boated from small island to small island, then we had a lovely lunch, and finally, we caught a fun-looking PWC jetpack demonstration. There's a boat show on, so there are lots of cool boats to see. There's obviously lots of money in this place. Big boats. Awesome condos. Sports cars everywhere. I think it would be a great place to live if you had millions of dollars.

Saturday, we visited the Folkmuseum (Norwegian version of Upper Canada Village), the Fram Ship Museum (the ships that Roald Amundsen took to Anarctica) and the Akershus Fortress. At 6 pm, we headed back to the airport, flew back to Belgium, where Jean Paul picked us up at 11 pm.

Ever since my first trip to Greece in 1978, travel has been my passion and extravagance. My year in the Netherlands as a Rotary Exchange Student in 1979/80 only fueled this obsession. As I've gotten older, I've become less concerned with "seeing the sights" and more interested in observing, experiencing and absorbing the way people live today.

From my perspective, the primary objective of these Devolin Adventures is to introduce the world to our children, George and Molly.
