Here are a few photos from our drive along the nearby Blyde River Canyon area. It was a bit hazy due to the crazy heat - 36 degrees again in the valley. The temperature dropped 10 degrees quickly as we started to climb the hills. We saw some gorgeous countryside and views of the valleys.
Our road trip home was spectacular too as we encountered an amazing lightening storm descending the hills. From a great distance away the bolts were startling and so impressive, as we headed into the storm, it was a little more intimidating. The steam rose off the road when the rain started to pelt the hot highway, but the high winds wiped it away instantly with a ghostly appearance.
We had a great afternoon out, but were glad to get back Hazyview.
