We started at the Museum of Fashion and Lace. This small but lovely museum is just behind the Grand Place in the heart of Brussels, and we spent our morning enjoying fashion from the 1850s-1890s - the height of the crinoline era.
I figured we'd be done with our indulgences for the day, but then we entered the street of pure sin: in only 500m I was tempted, tempted and tempted some more by the bounty of Belgium. See for yourself, and ask, before you judge me too harshly for my sugar indulgences, if you could have resisted!,
Not surprisingly, on the next block we found a beautiful church in which to seek absolution for our weaknesses.
After we were exhausted from walking so much, we boarded the train back to Mons, and were welcomed 'home' to another one of Sophie's yummy dinners. It was a lovely day.
