We were up at 5:00, out the door by 5:30, on the train at 6:08, on a flight at 8:30 and in Morocco before noon. We had some beautiful views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Corsica, the coast of Algeria and Morocco along the way. It's the first time for all nine of us to step foot on the African continent.
What a city! We only saw a small slice of it today, but what we did see was dazzling and filled with excitement . The city looks like it's crumbling, yet at the same time it looks solid and eternal. It's chaotic, but it has a flow to it that locals seem to understand. I feel like I'm in 1970 and 100AD all at the same time (it doesn't feel like 2015 has arrived yet).
I sense the kids don't really know what to think of this place. Tomorrow, as we wonder around town some more, I think they'll have a better chance to absorb it all.
We're exhausted and of to bed early.
