After a plane ride that was bumpy enough to have me gathering air sickness bags just in case (not necessary), we arrived in Danang. We then took a two hour drive north to Hue through the pretty countryside.
We saw mountains, lakes, rice paddies, fish farms, kids playing in school yards, water buffalo working in the fields, and hardworking Vietnamese going about their day and all from the comfort of an SUV that Barry had the hotel arranged for us. The highways are good here, and the speed limits are low (we never broke 60km/hr) so we had a very gentle drive. Turns out the Gravol wasn't needed; Molly and I spent the afternoon in a daze unnecessarily.
The day of packing and travel had as all a little tired and groggy, so after a late lunch/early dinner (George can tell you about that!), we called it a day. We'll have to explore this ancient city tomorrow when we're up for it.
