The WA coast

We continue to enjoy the beauty of Western Australia, or just "Dubya A" as the locals call this immensely vast and diverse state.

We 've seen some stunning beaches, played in the water where the jellies, dolphins and sting rays swim, hiked along the rocky coast, splashed in the smooth and rough waters and generally enjoyed our slow moving pace in the summer heat.

As our trip nears it's end, I'm becoming more and more focused on using my computer time each day to prepare for our landing in Korea in less than three weeks. This eventuality has been known for so long, yet I feel very unprepared. I had imagined I'd have taught the kids more Korean, and brushed up on my own by now, but this adventure and all the beautiful things of the world keep getting in my way of preparation. It's hard to get ready for the next adventure when you're in the middle of an exceptional one. Oh well...we'll arrive in chilly Korea in 18 days prepared or not.

So instead of fussing about the future, I'll take a moment to show off what we've seen over the past few days. When I look at them, I wonder why I fuss about anything.

The beach at our campground - Geographe Bay. We bought long sleeved sun shirts for the kids to help avoid burns from the high UV here.

The beautiful coast in Prevelly. I thought this was the most southernly point we'd travelled, but it's less than 1 degree north of Betty's Bay, South Africa where we saw the penguins.

As this part of the adventure winds down, it has been great to have traveled along by blog. Summer vacation is almost over - reminds me of when the Toronto Ex opened in mid Aug, you knew the end was coming and soon back to school. I hope you will write a few entries from Korea so we can get the flavour of your life there.

We are embarking on the family journey of a lifetime and I am trying to be the bravest and most adventurous version of myself as we begin. Looking forward to this journey is very exciting and rather overwhelming at the same time. We are making huge changes in our lives in hopes of enriching them.

My blog is a personal account of this trip. I'm happy to it share with my family and friends so they can join me on this journey.
